A full 600 mg daily dose of organic KSM-66 ashwagandha in one capsule for about $0.25-$0.28 a day. Strong value; not for pregnancy or thyroid conditions.

TikTok's viral bedtime hot cocoa: a sensible 3 mg melatonin plus 300 mg L-theanine in a 15-calorie drink, but at roughly $1.80-$2.20 a serving you pay for the ritual.

Our verdict
Beam Dream is a genuinely pleasant way to take a reasonable dose of melatonin and L-theanine, and many people clearly enjoy the ritual. But the reishi, apigenin and magnesium add little proven benefit, buyer ratings are mixed, and the price is steep, so we rate it as an overhyped, if well-formulated, treat. Buy it for the cocoa, not for miracle sleep.

Beam Dream is the 'sleepy hot chocolate' that has been all over TikTok, with creator videos approaching a million views. One scoop (6 g) stirred into hot water or milk makes a 15-calorie cocoa sweetened with monk fruit and stevia-derived Reb M. Per the brand's current label for the original Cinnamon Cocoa flavor, each serving contains 3 mg melatonin, 300 mg L-theanine, 350 mg reishi mushroom extract, 50 mg apigenin and 60 mg magnesium.
The formula is better than many sleep drinks. The 3 mg melatonin dose sits within the 1-3 mg range sleep specialists commonly suggest, and 300 mg of L-theanine falls inside the 200-450 mg daily range that a 2025 systematic review linked to better sleep. The other ingredients are weaker: 60 mg of magnesium is small, and human evidence for reishi and apigenin as sleep aids is limited. In practice, most of the effect likely comes from melatonin, and a melatonin-free version is also sold.
Reviews are more divided than the TikTok hype suggests. Creators consistently praise the taste and say they fall asleep faster without grogginess, and one pair of siblings reported higher sleep-tracker scores after trying it. On Amazon, though, the original Cinnamon Cocoa listing averages 3.8 stars, and buyers mention nausea, headaches, a hangover-like morning and a price many consider too high. At about $1.83 per serving, or $2.17 at the brand's list price, it costs many times more than a melatonin tablet plus an L-theanine capsule.
Beam says every lot is tested in-house and at a third-party lab, and customers can look up lot results on its site; the label notes manufacturing in GMP facilities.
