High Absorption Magnesium (Lysinate Glycinate)
A long-running Amazon favorite: 200 mg of fully chelated magnesium per serving that is easy on the gut, but the tablets are large and the full label dose exceeds the UL.

Amazon's No. 1 magnesium: 120 mg of magnesium glycinate per capsule in a minimal, allergen-free formula that is gentle on the gut but pricey per milligram.

Our verdict
This is the cleanest, most allergy-friendly magnesium glycinate you can easily buy, with unusually detailed testing disclosures and a formula that is kind to sensitive stomachs. You pay a premium for that, so budget buyers can get similar magnesium for less, but for people who react to fillers or other forms it is worth the money.

Pure Encapsulations Magnesium (Glycinate) is Amazon's best-selling magnesium supplement, ranked first in its category with more than 52,000 ratings, and one of the brands most often named in TikTok's magnesium glycinate trend. The formula is deliberately minimal: each capsule holds 120 mg of magnesium as magnesium glycinate, and the only other ingredients are a cellulose capsule and ascorbyl palmitate, a vitamin C-derived antioxidant.
That simplicity is the appeal for sensitive users. The product is certified gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization, non-GMO, vegan and free of common allergens. The company says it manufactures in its own FDA-inspected, cGMP facility in Sudbury, Massachusetts, testing raw materials for identity, potency, microbes, heavy metals, solvent residues and allergens, with additional testing by accredited outside laboratories. It does not carry a USP or NSF seal.
The flexible label (1 to 4 capsules daily with food) lets you dose from 120 to 480 mg. Two capsules (240 mg) sit comfortably under the 350 mg upper limit for supplemental magnesium; four capsules exceed it. The brand says glycinate is less likely to cause loose stools, and NIH lists oxide, carbonate, chloride and gluconate, not glycinate, as the forms most often linked to diarrhea. Video reviewers with sensitive stomachs report tolerating it well.
The trade-off is cost. At $27 for 90 capsules, 240 mg a day costs about 60 cents, roughly two and a half times as much per milligram as Doctor's Best. Buyers commonly credit it with better sleep and calmer evenings, though those are personal reports rather than clinical outcomes, and the capsule is fairly long at 0.905 inches.
