Our verdict
A dependable, no-frills creatine from the category's best-known brand, with Informed Choice certification and a clean single-ingredient label. It is not the cheapest per gram and it does not fully dissolve in plain water, but it delivers exactly what the research supports at a fair price.

Optimum Nutrition's Micronized Creatine Powder is about as simple as a supplement gets. The unflavored version lists a single ingredient, creatine monohydrate, at 5 g per rounded teaspoon. That matches the daily dose used across most of the creatine research, and monohydrate is the form with the deepest evidence for raising muscle creatine stores, supporting output in repeated high-intensity efforts and adding lean mass alongside resistance training.
"Micronized" means the powder is milled finer than standard creatine so it suspends more easily in liquid; it does not change how the creatine works once absorbed. Buyer feedback reflects that nuance. buyers overwhelmingly praise its quality, value and neutral taste, yet dissolvability is the most common complaint, with many noting grit at the bottom of a glass of plain water. Stirring right before drinking, or adding it to a protein shake, solves most of that.
On quality, ON's support site lists its creatine among the products certified by Informed Choice, LGC's program that screens batches for substances banned in sport. It is not NSF Certified for Sport and does not use branded Creapure, which is where pricier options set themselves apart.
Price is the other draw. The 60-serving tub sold for about $18–$23 at major retailers when we checked, and the 240-serving tub brings the cost to roughly $0.20 per 5 g serving. ON also sells fruit flavors; the brand says Mango Orange, Strawberry and Watermelon Lime use a 6 g scoop and contain no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners.
