Our verdict
A well-constructed, convenient daily probiotic: high total CFU guaranteed through expiration, broad species coverage, a prebiotic fiber base, and two legitimate third-party certifications. It loses points for a blend that hides per-strain CFU counts and omits strain designations, which makes the women's-health positioning harder to tie to published research. Reasonable for someone who wants a simple once-daily capsule and does not mind paying around a dollar a day, but cheaper strain-transparent options exist.

Garden of Life's Dr. Formulated Probiotics Once Daily Women's is a one-capsule-a-day probiotic built around 50 billion CFU from 16 probiotic species, split into 40 billion CFU of Lactobacillus-family cultures and 10 billion CFU of Bifidobacteria. The formula is positioned for women specifically because it adds Limosilactobacillus reuteri and Limosilactobacillus fermentum, two species that have been studied in the context of vaginal and urogenital microbiome balance, alongside a 317 mg organic prebiotic fiber blend of resistant potato starch and acacia fiber.
The label is honest about the big number: the 50 billion CFU is guaranteed at expiration date, not merely at manufacture, and the bottle is desiccant-lined so refrigeration is not required. That matters more than strain count for everyday use, and it is one reason this product has stayed a category staple since 2015.
Where the label falls short is resolution. The 248 mg probiotic blend lists species but not individual strain designations or per-strain CFU counts, so you cannot match what is in the capsule to the specific clinical trials that make the women's-health claim meaningful. Garden of Life does carry two meaningful third-party certifications, Non-GMO Project Verified and NSF Certified Gluten Free, though we found no published potency or contaminant certificate of analysis.
At the brand's current list price the cost works out to about $1.23 per capsule, with non-Amazon retailers such as Vitacost listing it lower. That is mid-to-high for a multi-strain daily probiotic, and buyers who review it most often flag the price, not the product, as the reason they switch.
