Our verdict
Legend V4 is one of the better-formulated mainstream pre-workouts: its core ingredients are at research-backed doses, the label is fully transparent, and the flavors are a genuine draw. The 300 mg caffeine dose is too strong for beginners and late-day training, and there is no verified sport certification, so tested athletes should look elsewhere.

Legend is the flagship pre-workout from GHOST, the Las Vegas brand known for licensed candy and soda flavors such as Welch's Grape, Warheads and Sour Strips. The current V4 formula is a clear step up from earlier versions: each serving delivers 300 mg of natural caffeine, 6 g of vegan-fermented L-citrulline, 3.2 g of beta-alanine and 2.5 g of betaine, plus 2 g of L-tyrosine, 1 g of taurine, 1 g of choline bitartrate and smaller amounts of theobromine, NeuroFactor coffee fruit extract, Senactiv and AstraGin.
Those headline doses line up well with the research. Six grams of L-citrulline sits in the range studied for blood flow and training volume, 3.2 g of beta-alanine matches the lower end of the 3.2–6.4 g daily range shown to support high-intensity endurance, and 2.5 g of betaine is the amount used in most power and strength studies. Every ingredient is individually disclosed, so there are no proprietary blends to decode. The weaker links are the add-ons: Senactiv, AstraGin and NeuroFactor have limited independent human data.
The main caution is the stimulant load. At 300 mg of caffeine plus 100 mg of theobromine, one scoop is roughly three cups of coffee, and the label warns against taking it within four hours of bedtime. Buyers and TikTok reviewers consistently rate the flavors as the highlight, while the most common complaints are beta-alanine tingles and the price outside of sales.
We could not verify a third-party certification for Legend V4, and GHOST's product page carries a California Prop 65 warning for lead.
